The information we collect

Depending on what you do on Real Agent, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, account details, property information, location references, messages, viewing requests, payment references, referral details, transaction records and documents you choose or are required to provide.

Listing and screening information

When a property is submitted, Real Agent may store structured listing information such as property class, type, subtype, principal use, building completion status, occupancy arrangement, building floors, unit floor, expected availability and other details needed to present or search the property accurately.

Where listing content or property images are screened, we may also keep screening outcomes, reasons, detector or service information, confidence values where supplied, moderation notes and audit records. These records help us decide whether a listing can move forward or needs human review. We do not treat a screening result as a substitute for legal or technical due diligence.

Payment and beneficiary information

For a property sale, rent or lease transaction, Real Agent may process or store payment references, amounts, commission information, masked bank-account details, beneficiary identity results, ownership or receiving-authority information, provider references and payout status needed to coordinate and audit the transaction.

Real Agent does not hold sale proceeds, rent or lease consideration as customer funds. Where we coordinate payment to a verified principal beneficiary, payment and identity providers may receive the information reasonably necessary to verify the beneficiary account and complete the instructed payment or disbursement. Full bank-account details are treated as protected information and should not be exposed publicly.

Why we use information

We use information to operate the marketplace, structure and review listings, prevent fraud, arrange viewings, process or reconcile payments, verify intended beneficiaries, coordinate transaction payments, communicate with you, investigate complaints, meet legal obligations and keep an audit trail of important decisions.

Public and protected information

Information intended for a public listing may be shown publicly after moderation. Exact addresses, direct contact details, identity documents, title documents, bank-account details, private transaction records and other protected information are not made public simply because a listing exists.

Service providers

We may use carefully selected providers for hosting, email, security, payments, identity, bank-account verification, financial-data, disbursement or screening services. They receive only the information reasonably needed to perform the service we use them for.

How long we keep information

We keep information for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected, for transaction records, policy acceptance, dispute handling, fraud prevention, legal obligations, audit history and legitimate business records. Some screening, moderation and payment-audit records are intentionally append-only so later decisions and money movements can be understood rather than silently overwritten.

Your choices

You may ask us to correct inaccurate personal information, explain how it is being used, or consider a request to delete or restrict information where the law allows. Some records may need to be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, transaction or dispute reasons.
