AML, KYC & Identity Verification Policy
Why we sometimes need more than a name
Property transactions can involve impersonation, disputed authority, false ownership claims and movement of unlawful funds. Real Agent may therefore ask a property owner, buyer, tenant, agent, Listing Partner, representative or beneficial owner for enough information to understand who is involved and whether they have authority to act.
Checks may include
Depending on risk and transaction stage, we may ask for identity documents, company or representative information, evidence of ownership or authority, payment-account information, source-of-funds explanations or other supporting evidence.
Principal-beneficiary account checks
Where Real Agent coordinates a property principal payment — including sale proceeds, rent or lease consideration — we may verify the intended principal beneficiary's bank account and compare the resolved account-holder identity with the verified ownership, title, tenancy-authority or other receiving-authority records. The purpose is to reduce the risk of sending property proceeds to an unrelated, substituted or incorrectly identified account.
Real Agent does not hold sale, rent or lease principal as customer funds. These checks support coordination of payment to the verified principal beneficiary. If the account identity does not match, if the verification service is unavailable, or if the evidence is incomplete, the payment flow may be paused for human review.
Structured listing information is not identity verification
A property being accurately classified by type, use, location or completion status does not prove who owns it or who has authority to transact. Listing structure, content screening and KYC are different controls and may happen at different stages.
Risk-based review
Not every user will be asked for the same information. Higher-value, unusual, inconsistent or higher-risk activity may require more checks, and automated or internal risk signals can lead to a human review rather than an automatic decision.
Suspicious or unlawful activity
We will not help structure a transaction to avoid lawful checks. Where the law requires reporting, record preservation, refusal of service or cooperation with a competent authority, Real Option Properties Ltd may act accordingly.
No automatic accusation
A request for additional information does not by itself mean we believe someone has done anything wrong. It means we need enough reliable information to continue responsibly.
